Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October Ari Lennox dropped her Pho EP. The EP was where she received recognition. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. On July 21 2015 she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. The following year, her music was circulating throughout the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer for J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream, from the album dropped on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. Then on the 9th November she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On the 13th of November, two brand new singles, titled The No One and pedigree. She appeared with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then she released the song in a solo version on the album she released her debut. A music video was released 20 February 2019 in order to accompany the track. Within the first time, it was viewed more than 3,000,000 views. In December of 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
